Jay Zises leads the New York City-based A Cap, Inc., with more than four decades of experience in the financial sector. Jay Zises also supports Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF), which helps finance the higher education of Israeli combat soldiers through its IMPACT! Scholarship Program. Financial challenges preventing Israelis from earning a college degree can limit their potential and deprive dedicated individuals from advancing their education, a fundamental value of Jewish culture. IMPACT! provides recipients with the necessary funds to pursue an education at an accredited Israeli institution and reach their full potential. Scholarships cover the cost of tuition and related expenses for four years of study. Additionally, recipients must complete 130 hours of community service during each year of study. Eligible individuals include combat and combat-support veterans from a disadvantaged socioeconomic background. An International Grant Committee consisting of Israeli university and IDF representatives, as well as business leaders from Israel and the United States, selects the scholarship recipients. Scholarship funds come from donors and charitable contributions, and the cost to fund one student for four years amounts to $16,000.
